During the study the 81 percent people said they felt better as a result of the holiday. There were also some surprising benefits like a boost in confidence, improved skin condition and even weight loss.

The survey was conducted by Expedia and total of 31 million people, who had been on holiday in the previous 12 months, were included in it. During the survey 46 per cent of people said they felt more relaxed, 42 percent said they felt happier and 35 percent said they felt less stressed.

10 percent of respondents reported that they saw an improvement in the condition of their skin.

And last but not the least, Six percent of those surveyed said they had higher sex drives, while six percent of people also said they experienced weight loss as a result of their break.

These benefits will stay with you anywhere between an average of three weeks to three months after you finished you traveling.

“Exposure to a healthy amount of sunshine is also believed to increase the brain’s release of the hormone serotonin,” said Papadopoulos. “Which is associated with boosting mood and helping a person feel calm and focused.”
